ZAMBOANGA CITY – Policemen, backed by soldiers, arrested the alleged wife of a pro-ISIS sub-leader in an operation at dawn Tuesday in the southern Philippine province of Basilan, police said.
Police said Nuida Hataman, who is also the provincial director of Technical Education Skills and Development Authority, was in niqab when taken out of a house in Isabela City.
Hataman’s husband Radzmir Janatul is being hunted down by security forces for being a member of the Abu Sayyaf.
Janatul, one of the lieutenants of a notorious Abu Sayyaf leader Puruji Indama, was not at home when policemen searched the house, but security forces allegedly recovered rifle grenades and a blasting cap, including components for improvised explosives.
The woman was brought to Zamboanga City and is being interrogated at the regional headquarters of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group of the Philippine National Police.
No other details were made available by the police or military on Hataman’s interrogation. The woman did not give any statement to journalists. (The Zamboanga Post)
