
MANILA (Mindanao Examiner / Dec. 22, 2012) – Police authorities are investigating a senior official for failing to stop illegal gambling operation called Jueteng in the northern province of Pangasinan.
Senior Superintendent Mariano Versoza, Jr., the provincial police chief, has been relieved from his duty and replaced by Senior Superintendent Manolito Labador.
Interior Secretary Mar Roxas said the relief of Versoza Jr. is big step in ridding the province of illegal gambling activities.
Just recently, Mayor Rodrigo Orduna, of Bugallon town, accused Governor Amado Espino, Jr., as behind the operation of Jueteng. He also filed plunder charges against Espino in connection to the illegal gambling.
