DIPOLOG CITY (Mindanao Examiner / Feb. 29, 2012) – A truck plunged into a ravine killing five of its passengers and wounding several others in the southern Filipino province of Zamboanga del Norte, police said on Wednesday.
Police said the truck was heading to the town of Baliguian from Dipolog City when the accident occurred on Tuesday morning. It said truck’s brake system malfunctioned and the driver, Vic Compes, lost control of the vehicle.
The driver was among those injured in the fall and police is investigating the case. (Mindanao Examiner)
