ZAMBOANGA CITY (Mindanao Examiner / July 23, 2013) – Local police arrested a couple during a drug sting in Zamboanga City in southern Philippines, officials said Tuesday.
Officials said the anti-drug operation resulted in the arrest of Albinar, 30, and Shara, 22, in the village of Luyahan.
Chief Inspector Ariel Huesca, a regional police spokesman, said undercover agents led by Senior Inspector Joewie Lucas were able to buy a sachet of suspected shabu that led to the arrest of the couple, who are natives of Jolo town in Sulu province.
He said the police also seized an unlicensed .38-caliber revolver with four bullets from Jamiri.
Huesca said the two suspects are currently detained in Zamboanga City pending the outcome of the police investigation. (Mindanao Examiner)
