TACURONG CITY (Mindanao Examiner / May 21, 2014) – Police arrested a man long wanted by authorities for frustrated murder after he showed up in a police station in Tacurong City in Sultan Kudarat province to get a clearance, officials said Wednesday.
Inspector Roel Abejero said the 33-year old Lemual Corpuz was arrested immediately after his name showed up the police wanted list. He said Corpuz did not resist arrest when they accosted him while he was trying to get the police clearance.
“He is wanted for frustrated murder and his arrest only shows that crime does not pay,” Abejero told the regional newspaper Mindanao Examiner.
He said the court set a P200,000 bail for Corpuz for his temporary liberty. Corpuz, who works as public transport driver, is now locked up at the police jail while his case is being prepared. (Rose Muneza and Sheen Pania)
