“We hope that the media will understand if we restrict coverage of our battle casualties. It is for any reason, but to protect the relatives of our soldiers and to ensure that commanders are the first persons to inform the love ones of what had happened.”

“Also, in most cases, photos and video footages or our wounded and killed soldiers cause demoralization. We are however, allowing the media to interview our casualties as soon as they have fully recovered,” ani Coballes sa Mindanao Examiner.

“Western Mindanao Command appreciates the support being given by the media community and in the spirit of transparency, we have at all times accommodated requests for coverage and interview,” sabi pa ng heneral. “We acknowledge the role of the media in our internal security operations and as partners; we hope that they will understand the wisdom behind this policy.” (Mindanao Examiner)
