Western Mindanao Police wins ‘Battle of the Band’ in South

Editor November 21, 2014
PNP-2B2-2Bcopy5

ZAMBOANGA CITY – The Police Regional Office 9 (Western Mindanao) has won the “Battle of the Band,” besting two other regional police offices in the Muslim autonomous region and SOCSARGEN in the Mindanao elimination of the contest.

The Battle of the Band, with the theme “Serbisyong Makatotohanan at Galing Pulis,” was held at the Paseo del Mar Park in Zamboanga City where some 3,000 people flocked to watch the competition. The PRO9 won in the “original composition” category and adjudged as First Runner-Up in the “open competition” category, according to Insp. Dahlan Samuddin, the regional police spokesman.

He said winning the competition has once again brought honor to the entire regional police force. He said the competing bands were judged based on different criteria set by the panel of judges. The finale of the competition is set on December 11 at the national police headquarters in Quezon City. (Mindanao Examiner)
