
ZAMBOANGA CITY (Mindanao Examiner / Aug. 25, 2013) – A lone gunman on Sunday shot and killed a woman, who was only seeking shelter from the rain, on a village in Zamboanga City in southern Philippines, police said.
Police said the gunman escaped after killing the 28-year old Sheenalyn Gregana in the village of Recodo which is notorious for drug-related violence.
Gregana, who lived in Zambowood village, was shot in the face, according to Chief Inspector Ariel Huesca, a regional police spokesman.
Huesca said police are investigating the motive of the killing.
“Initial investigation conducted by Zamboanga City Police Station 9 disclosed that the victim was seeking shelter from the rain when suspect approached and shot her,” he said. (Mindanao Examiner)
