ZAMBOANGA CITY (Mindanao Examiner / June 12, 2012) – A suspected drug dealer shot and wounded a woman following a heated altercation on Tuesday in Zamboanga City in the southern Philippines, police said.

Police said the gunman, Salem Bairula, escaped after shooting Evelyn Rolida in the face in Recodo village.

Witnesses told police investigators that Bairula was shouting invectives at the woman at her convenience store then shot her once in the face with a hand gun.

The victim is now in critical condition at the hospital in Zamboanga. Police launched a manhunt to arrest Bairula. (Mindanao Examiner)
