  • 300 indigent residents benefited from free medical-dental services, consultations and other frontline services through the Dia del Alcalde in Barangay Tagasilay on Wednesday morning. Aside from the different city government agencies, the Philippine Marines and Philhealth also brought their services to the barangay.
  • Mayor Beng Climaco leads the commemoration of the 73rd Araw ng Kagitingan on Thursday, April 9 which will kick off with a flag raising ceremony at 7 a.m. in front of City Hall. A commemorative program, organized by the Philippine Veterans Association of the Philippines-Zamboanga Veterans District will follow at the Freedom Fighters Shrine in Rizal Street.
  • Some 355 out of school youths from different barangays completed their skills training and alternative learning through a program initiated by the USAID and implemented through MYDEV and ZABIDA. Mayor Climaco who keynoted the activity urged the newest batch of graduates to believe in themselves and their capacity to be heroes and to always give their best in all their endeavors in order to succeed.
  • Mayor Climaco today highlighted the critical role played by volunteer probation aides in giving probationers and parolees the chance to start again and welcome them back to the mainstream of society through hands-on interaction and communication. This, as she welcomed to Zamboanga the delegates/ participants to the 4th Regional Volunteer Probation Aide Convention held at the Harmony Village in Sinunuc, April 8 highlighted by the signing of a memorandum of understanding for the proposed rehabilitation center for paroled inmates.
  • An activity center which will serve as a sub-health center at the transitory site in Barangays Massepla, Mampang was turned over to the City Health office by the Department of Health. The facility will attend to the health needs of internally displaced persons in Masepla now considered as the largest transitory site.
