Zamboanga City Government News Bits – June 9, 2015

  • Multi-stakeholders convened Tuesday, June 9, for a 3-day Workshop on Contingency Planning on human-induced violence (worst case scenario) organized by the CDRRMO at the Royce Convention in Astoria Hotel. Themed “Contingency Planning: a strategy for a convenient, unified and disaster resilient Zamboanga City,” the activity is aimed to strengthen the capacities of communities in disaster prevention, mitigation, preparedness, response, rehabilitation and recovery.
  • Mayor Beng Climaco convenes the City Development Council Wednesday, June 10 at 9am at the Centro Latino tackle prevailing issues to include the Local Development Investment Program (LDIP) and the 2016 Annual Investment Program (AIP). The LDIP is the basic document that translates the Local Development plan into programs, projects and activities. It contains a multi-layer listing of programs, projects and activities with cost estimates and sources of funds to be used to implement the LDP.
  • The Zamboanga City Roadmap to Recovery and Reconstruction (Z3R) plan with the build back better concept is steadily moving forward, as the government on Monday turned over the initial 127 houses on stilts to the first batch of families displaced by the 2013 siege. Spearheaded by Mayor Beng Climao and National Housing Authority (NHA) District Manager Engr. Al Indanan, the houses turned over were the first of the total 642 units targeted for construction in the Mariki area.
  • The Public Employment Service Office (PESO) under the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) is now registering and accepting applicants to fill-in positions for a prestigious company that will soon open in the Zamboanga. The positions include 4 cashiers, 20 sales clerks, 10 stock clerks, 1 accounting assistant, 1 customer service assistant and 2 inventory clerks/administrative clerks. Interested applicants are advised to submit resume’ at PESO, CSWDO on or before Monday, June 15. Interview with the Company Human Resource personnel is set on Tuesday, June 16 at  the PESO-CSWDO from 8am to 4pm.
  • The City Government through the City Administrator’s Office offers lot for lease comprising of 1.2 hectares more or less located at the Integrated Bus Terminal (IBT) in barangay Divisoria. The lot is open to investors for building of commercial mall/center. Interested parties may submit comprehensive proposal to City Administrator Antonio Orendain Jr. and for inquiries please contact 991-4985.
  • The 5th day of the series of information caravan (3rd wave) organized by the Communications Working Group with support from the USAID and the Asia Foundation visited the PTSI Transitory site in Upper Calarian Tuesday, June 9 with the Code of Policies on Z3R Beneficiary Selection and its Implementing Rules and Regulations as focus of discussion.
  • The schedule for other transitory sites is the following: June 10 at 9am- Rio Hondo TS (Rio Hondo MPH); June 11 at 2pm Buggoc TS to include Silsillah (Buggoc open space at the entrance); June 13 at 9am -home based IDPs (east coast cluster) at Centro Latino and June 16 at 2pm- Asinan, Kasanyangan  (Kasanyangan barangay Hall)
