ZAMBOANGA CITY (Mindanao Examiner / July 4, 2014) – Local Mayor Maria Isabelle Salazar distributed bags to students in two schools in Zamboanga City in southern Philippines.
Salazar, accompanied by Council members Josephine Pareja and lawyer Mel Sadain, handed over the bags to Grade 7 students of the Tulungatung National High School and Talisayan National High School on July 3.
She also spoke to students and mingled with them. Tulungatung village chieftain Esther del Rosario and teachers were also present during distribution of the bags.
The distribution of school bags is part of Salazar’s priority program on education. (Mindanao Examiner)
