
ZAMBOANGA CITY – A girl had drowned and another is missing after they were swept away by flash flood in a river in Zamboanga City in southern Philippines, police said Sunday.
Police said one minor, Jay-Ar Angeles, who was together with victims – Emely Angeles and cousin Ana Marie Angeles – was recovered alive by rescuers in the river in the village of Bolong.
The trio was bathing in the river when they were carried by the strong current. The body of Emely was recovered.
The lone survivor was rushed to hospital. (Mindanao Examiner)
