
ZAMBOANGA SIBUGAY (Mindanao Examiner / June 18, 2013) – A fisherman was murdered in the town of Naga in Zamboanga Sibugay province after villagers found his body in a pool of blood on Tuesday, police said.
Police said the body belongs to Ronel Caluña, a resident of Sambuwang village in Margosatubig town in Zamboanga del Sur province.
It said Caluña was last seen drinking with friends at a karaoke pub late Monday in Naga town. His body, which bore stab wounds, was discovered by villagers floating by the coast in Taytay Manubo.
Police said it is investigating the murder. It was not immediately known whether his drinking buddies are suspects in the killings or not.
No individual or group claimed responsibility for the murder and the motive of the killing is still unknown. (Mindanao Examiner)
