ZAMBOANGA CITY (Mindanao Examiner / June 20, 2013) – A villager leader and 10-year old girl were killed while another was wounded in a gun attack in Zamboanga city in southern Philippines, police said.
Police identified the slain village leader as Alimudin Quillah, of Cusipan in Zamboanga del Norte’s Sibuco town; and the girl Jay Ann Ismael.
The wounded, who survived the attack, Totoh Ysmael, was rushed to hospital.
Police said the attack occurred in the village of Limpapa, east of Zamboanga, but officials did not give details of the shootings, saying an investigation is on going to determine the motives and who were behind the attack.
No individual or group claimed responsibility for the attack. (Mindanao Examiner)
