2 brothers who ganged up farmer end up in hospital

Editor March 28, 2013

PAGADIAN CITY (Mindanao Examiner / Mar. 28, 2013) – Two brothers were wounded after they ganged up on a farmer armed with a bolo in the town of Guipos in the southern Philippine province of Zamboanga del Sur, police said.

Police said the two – Oliver Penazo and Olizer Penazo – were drunk when they ganged up on Emilio Vergara who was walking home with his wife. Vergara said he was forced to defend himself and his wife from the attack and hacked the duo.

Both brothers ran to escape from Vergara, who immediately surrendered to the police after the incident.

The victims sustained multiple injuries and laceration on the different parts of their bodies and were rushed to Margos Regional Hospital for medical treatment. It was not immediately known whether the brothers would file criminal charges against Vergara. (Mindanao Examiner)
