3 sundalo sugatan sa Sayyaf ambush

ZAMBOANGA CITY – Tatlong sundalo ang sugatan matapos na tambangan ng Abu Sayyaf ang convoy ng militar sa lalawigan ng Sulu sa katimugan ng bansa.

Sinabi ni Senior Supt. Abraham Orbita, Sulu police chief, na pawang mga miyembro ng 35th Infantry Battalion ang biktima ng pananambang na naganap sa Barangay Bungkaong sa bayan ng Patikul.

“Government troops sustained three wounded-in-action while undetermined casualties on the enemy side,” ani Orbita sa Mindanao Examiner regional newspaper.

Patungong bayan ng Jolo ang convoy ng ratratin ng Abu Sayyaf sa ilalim ni sub-leader Ajang-Ajang at ang grupo ng Lucky 9 na pawang mga teenagers at addict sa shabu ang miyembro at nagtagal ang labanan ng halos 30 minuto, ayon kay Orbita.

Sa hiwalay na ulat naman ng Western Mindanao Command, sinabi ni Capt. Maria Rowena Muyuela, ang tagapagsalita nito, na dalawa sundalo lamang ang sugatan sa labanan. 
“The wounded soldiers are now in stable condition after being treated in hospital,” wika nito.

Ipinag-utos rin umano ni Col. Alan Arrojado, commander ng Joint Task Group Sulu, ang pagtugis sa mga rebelde. (Mindanao Examiner)
