It said rebel forces attacked the soldiers in the village called Paradise Embac in Paquibato district, a known NPA stronghold.
The rebel group, which is fighting for a separate Maoist state, warned of more attacks against government and military targets in Davao Cityand other areas in Mindanao as part of its renewed offensive.
