
ZAMBOANGA SIBUGAY – Police said a 27-year old fisherman was killed by a still unidentified assailant after his body was found on a village in Olutanga town in the southern Philippine province of Zamboanga Sibugay.
Police said a woman found the body of Asmala Abdul in Looc-Sapi village. The victim, who was from the village of Taguisian, bore gunshot wounds in the forehead and left knee.
The motive of the killing is unknown, but police said it recovered 5 empty heat-sealed green straws with few granules of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, also known as shabu, and drug paraphernalia.
Police are investigating whether the murder was connected to illegal drugs. (Mindanao Examiner)
