MANILA (Mindanao Examiner / May 5, 2013) – The Hagonoy Young Leaders Program, a community development oriented and volunteer-driven youth organization, formed by a network of former officials and Sangguniang Kabataan in the town of Hagonoy in Bulacan province, said it has continuously worked in the development of a stream of values-based servant leaders.
Now on its 5th year, Hyleap will gather this month 50 of the most promising youth leaders in Hagonoy, with its flagship project the “Hagonoy Young Leaders Congress,” a three-day leadership summit.
HYLC delegates are the most promising leaders from top academic high schools, Sangguniang Kabataan Federations and its affiliates, Parish Youth Councils and out-of-school youth and non-formal youth organizations from all over the town of Hagonoy.
The congress features a unique experience for the delegates as they are immersed with lectures, outdoor activities, plenary sessions and discussions designed to build their confidence and hone their potentials, nurture their commitment to integrity and principled leadership, foster their nationalism and idealism, and encourage them to become faithful stewards of their communities’ and town’s future.
More than being a three-day congress, HYLC graduates ‘pay-it-forward’ to their fellow youth in Hagonoy by voluntarily organizing community development initiatives such as Voter’s Education Barangay Caravan, Youth Oriented Talk Shows and publications, Forums and Social Dialogues, Relief Operations, Youth Parade and Youth Mentoring, which sustain their passion for service.
Hagonoy Young Leaders Congress is a leadership initiative of Hagonoy Young Leaders Program, 18th Special Forces and Anywhere Philippines in alliance with Society of Young Leaders for Environmental Concerns, Youth Leadership Summit-Central Luzon Alliance, and Central Luzon-Leadership and Empowerment Alliance for Development.
