
ZAMBOANGA DEL NORTE – Police are holding a 14-year old boy after he was caught stealing electrical wire at a utility station in Zamboanga del Norte province in southern Philippines.
Police said a 12-year old boy managed to escape from authorities and is being sought after being implicated in the burglary in the village of Lower Irasan in Roxas town.
The two boys were accused of stealing 35 meters of copper wire used by the Zamboanga Del Norte Electric Cooperative.
They were caught by Chidrome Agustin, 42, and Justine Manlulas, 19, who were caretakers of the power station. They immediately informed the police about the incident.
Police said the two boys destroyed the fence of the power station to gain entry to the compound.
It said the parents of the minor were also invited to the police station for investigation. Police said the boy would be handed over to the Department of Social Welfare and Development. (Mindanao Examiner)
