CEBU – The Cebu Provincial Government and the Philippines-Korea Cultural and Educational Exchange Center has recently held a livelihood skills enhancement program for representatives of various offices of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan.
Cebu Vice Governor Agnes Magpale and Dr. Choi hoon Young led the training program. Young said his goal is to train people from the government and use what they learned in the skills enhancement program for local government livelihood programs.
Those who attended the livelihood skills enhancement program were trained on nail art design, decorative rag-dolls, flower arrangement, hair cutting and styling, including Korean language. Kimchi-making is also being introduced by the trainers, mostly volunteers from the Philippines-Korea Cultural and Educational Exchange Center.
Young said he has been libing in the Philippines for the past decade now, adding, he is overwhelmed at how Filipinos have welcomed Koreans. He said he wanted to reach out to more Filipinos, specially teenage mothers, and Korean-Filipinos; and people with disabilities so he can also train them as part of his advocacy.
He said many talented Cebuanos and Koreans are showing interest in volunteering for livelihood programs. He also praised the provincial government for the partnering with him in the conduct of the program in Cebu.
