Urban poor groups showcase own products in Mandaue exhibit

  Urban poor groups showcase own products in Mandaue exhibit held recently in Cebu.

MANDAUE CITY – The local urban poor group here held an exhibit of the sector’s livelihood products as part of the celebration of the Urban Poor Solidarity Week.

A folk dance by Centro Day Care Center pupils opened the celebration which was headed by Mayor Jonas Cortes and assisted by Tony Pet Juanico, head of the Housing, Urban and Development Office; Clemen Quiros, of Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor (PCUP), among others.

Among the products in the exhibit were home-made bags and coin purses made from recycled materials by Dedon Furniture by Tipolo Creekside Urban Poor Homeowners Association; fashion accessories by Almers’ Compound Neighborhood Homeowners’ Association, and coin purses, bags – also from recycled materials –  by Dedon by Kobe-Canduman Homeowners Association.

Other groups displayed food products and plastic containers, ready-to-wear dresses, among other items.
