Bukidnon mayor tigok sa ambush

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (Mindanao Examiner / July 2, 2014) – Napatay sa isang ambush Miyerkoles ng umaga ang mayor ng Impasug-ong sa lalawigan ng Bukidnon at agad na inginuso ng militar ang rebeldeng New People’s Army na diumano’y nsa likod nito.

Ayon sa ulat ng militar ay tinambangan ng mga armadong grupo ang convoy ni Mayor Mario Okinlay sa Barangay Bontongon sa nasabing bayan na kung saan ay may medical mission umano ang pulitiko.

Dinala pa sa pagamutan saMalaybalay City si Okinlay, ngunit wala na umano itong buhay bago pa man makarating doon dahil sa tinamong mga tama ng bala sa kanyang katawan.

Hindi pa mabatid ang motibo sa atake at wala rin umako sa ambush, ngunit sa ulat ng 4th Infantry Division at ng Eastern Mindanao Command ay NPA ang itinuturong may kagagawan nito. Sinisipat naman ng pulisya ang lahat ng angulo sa krimen, subali’t wala pang nagsasabi kung may kinalaman sa pulitika o sa nalalapit na halalan ang pananambang kay Okinlay.

Walang ibinigay na anumang pahayag ang rebeldeng grupo ukol sa alegasyon ng militar.Matagal ng nakikibaka ang NPA sa hangarin nitong maitayo ang sariling estado sa bansa. (J. Magtanggol)
