ZAMBOANGA SIBUGAY (Mindanao Examiner / Jan. 9, 2014) – A 26-year old man was shot and killed after he tried to rape his neighbor’s partner in Buug town in the southern Filipino province of Zamboanga Sibugay, police said.
Police said James Fajardo died instantly after being shot by Gary Arpal, 28, who came to rescue her partner after she screamed for help inside their house in Muyo village.
Fajardo barged in Arpal’s house forced himself to the woman, but the timely arrival of her partner saved her from the hands of Fajardo. Arpal fled after the shooting and is being sought by the police.
It was unknown whether Fajardo’s family would file criminal charges against Arpal. (Mindanao Examiner)
