Media, nagimbento ng balita – Army

MAGUINDANAO – Mariing itinanggi kahapon ng 6th Infantry Division ang mga lumabas na ulat sa isang radio network at national newspaper, gayun rin sa isang national tabloid, na may sumabog na bomba sa bayan ng Shariff Aguak sa Maguindanao province sa Muslim autonomous region.

Sinabi ni Captain Jo-ann Petinglay, ang army spokeswoman, na walang naganap na anuman pagsabog sa nasabing bayan at wala rin itong ibinibigay na pahayag ukol dito na kung saan ay inulat ng isang Cotabato City station ng Manila-based radio network na sumambulat ang bomba sa Barangay Timbangan.

Pinulot naman ng writer ng isang broadsheet at tabloid ang nasabing balita ng hindi man lamang inalam sa 6th Infantry Division kung ito ba ay may katotohan o wala.

Sa ulat ng radio station ay quoted pa si Petinglay kung kaya’t gulat na gulat ito ng mabasa ang news item na kung saan ay ibinintang pa sa Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters ang pagsabog. Maging si Abu Misry, ang spokesman ng BIFF, ay quoted rin sa balita na nagsabing wala silang kinalaman sa atake.

“There is no bombing or explosion and the news of the radio station was simply erroneous, but it was also picked by the national newspaper whose writer did not even bother to verify whether it was true or not,” ani Petinglay sa panayam ng Mindanao Examiner regional newspaper.

Hindi naman mabatid kung pinulot rin ng ibang journalists ang imbentong balita. (Mindanao Examiner)
