MARAWI CITY – Dozens of people have benefited from a medical outreach mission conducted by Project BOSS or Brotherhood Operation Surgical Services together with Mabuhay Deseret Foundation and Philippine Band of Mercy in Marawi City in Lanao del Sur province in southern Philippines.

Bel Yenko, of the Project BOSS, said the joint humanitarian project was held at the Amai Pakpak Medical Center. He said Dr. Amer Saber, the Chief of Hospital, and their fraternal brother in Alpha Phi Omega, helped in the mission.

Over 60 patients – cataract and cleft lip cases – availed of the free medical services.

Yenko said it was also the first time for members of the Philippine Band of Mercy to travel to Marawi City and to see a world-class, 275 bed capacity hospital with the latest and modern medical equipment and machinery, and a scenic elevator overlooking Lake Lanao.

He said Amai Pakpak Medical Center is the only government hospital with such amenities. “This will be the start of our continuing service to the people of Lanao del Sur in cooperation with Amai Pakpak Medical Center and PBM,” Yenko said. (Mindanao Examiner)
