Militar, NPA nagsagupaan sa Agusan Sur

DAVAO CITY – Muling nagsagupaan ang militar at isang grupo ng mga rebeldeng New People’s Army sabayan ng Veruela sa Agusan del Sur sa Mindanao na kung saan ay patuloy ngayon ang operasyon ng mga sundalo.

Sinabi ni Capt. Alberto Caber, ang spokesman ng Eastern Mindanao Command, na walang inulay na sugatan o nasawi sa naturang labanan na naganap kahapon. Ngunit ipinagbunyi naman nito ang pagkakabawi ng apat na armas na naiwan diumano ng NPA sa Barangay Del Monte na kung saan nagkaroon ng labanan.

Walang inilabas na anumang pahayag ang NPA ukol sa sagupaan at sa mga armas na nabawi ng mga sundalo ng 26th Infantry Battalion.

“Pursuit operations are still on-going as of this reporting,” ani Caber.

Umabot na umano sa 77 ang mga armas na nabawi ng militar sa mga pakikipaglaban nito sa NPA sa eastern Mindanao mula pa nitong Enero. Nakikibaka ang NPA sa pamahalaan upang maitatag nito ang sariling pamahalaan. (Mindanao Examiner)
