PAGADIAN CITY (Mindanao Examiner / Aug. 1, 2013) – A man was shot and seriously wounded in an attack in Pagadian City in the southern Philippines, police said Thursday.

It said two motorcycle gunmen were involved in the shooting of Suharto Ababol along Urro Street. Ababol was in a tricycle when shot by one of the assailants.

The attackers escaped after the shooting.

Police said the victim was hit in the face and right hand and was rushed to the Pagadian City Medical Center.

It said Ababol was a resident of Dinas town in Zamboanga del Sur province and is temporarily residing in Pagadian.

The spate of gun attacks in Pagadian is alarming the locals and many of the killings are believed perpetrated by guns-for-hire. Most of the cases remain unresolved. (Mindanao Examiner)
