SULU – A government soldier shot dead an army commander on Friday in the southern Philippine province of Sulu where the military is investigating the killing, officials said.
Officials said Major Nurhusin Hadjaruddin, commander of the 52nd Engineer Brigade, was killed by Corporal Julhalim Indanan in his house in the village of Busbus in Jolo town.
Major Filemon Tan, a spokesman for the military’s Western Mindanao Command, did not give details of the killing, saying, the military is investigating the shooting.
“Investigations are on-going to establish the motive for the shooting incident,” he said.
Tan did not say whether the soldier was arrested after the shooting or not. Hadjaruddin’s family and the police also did not give a statement on the killing. (Mindanao Examiner)
