THE Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Camiguin recently conducted a public hearing on the prescribed speed limit for all road classifications within the jurisdiction of the Province of Camiguin on at the Camiguin Convention Center, here.
This, after the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) noted the alarming road accidents that take place throughout the province. For this, the DILG mandated all local government units (LGUs) to legislate concerning speed limits to prevent such incidents.
As a response to DILG, the Provincial Government of Camiguin enacted the said ordinance to ensure the welfare of the people and to provide safety measures to all travelers of the island.
The said public hearing was attended by all chairmen of the Committee on Transportation from the municipal level down to the barangay level and other stakeholders.(By SP Camiguin)
