DAVAO CITY (Mindanao Examiner / May 24, 2013) – A small spray plane crashed in Davao City airport in southern Philippines, injuring its pilot and forcing airliners to divert their planes, authorities said.

It said the Cessna, owned by Mindanao Rainbow Agricultural Development Services, is being used in banana plantations in Davao, when it crashed in the runway.

Its pilot, Captain Jose Bugarin, was rushed to hospital. The company did not release any statement about the crash.

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines is currently investigating the cause of the crash. (Mindanao Examiner)
