Assalamu Alaikum Warahmatullahi Taala Wabarakatuhu!

To My Fellow Tausug and the People of Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, another year has passed, it is now 2013. We have so much to do in so little time. The passing of each year is hardly noticeable as we focus on our daily routines.

With the future of Sulu still looming in the horizon such as strengthening peace and security, development of our tourism industry, improving productivity of our agricultural products, reviving native industries such as cloth weaving, mat making, jewelry making and many others.

Our natural landscape and the economic viability of our native industries has attracted many individuals and groups both locally and on international levels. There is no doubt, that if we get our acts together, the possibilities for economic growth in Sulu are endless.

But indeed, there are still a lot of work to be done before our vision of progress can be realized. The support and cooperation that you, my fellow citizens have exhibited to the Provincial Government, I enjoin, must continue. Only when we are united can we achieve better and greater things for Sulu.

Thank you and Wassalam!

Sulu Governor Abdusakur M. Tan
