The People Also Have A Role In Maintaining Security – Najib – Bernama

Editor January 21, 2016

The people must also play a role in ensuring peace in the country instead of leaving that responsibility entirely to the police, military and other security personnel, said Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

The Prime Minister said the simplest way the people could help was to refrain from spreading false or unverified news that could raise public anxiety and fear.

“Everyone of us has a role to play and if each of us played that role with sincerity with the intention of ensuring that our beloved country remains peaceful and free of terrorist threats, Malaysia will be peaceful and safeguarded with God’s blessings,” he said in his latest post on his blog, NajibRazak.com.

The post, titled ‘The Sacrifice of Security Forces Personnel and the Role of the People’, also carried several photographs of security personnel on patrol in a number of locations.

Najib said that in strengthening national security following a spate of militant attacks in several countries, “we often overlook the sacrifices made by the security personnel in maintaining peace and preventing untoward incidents”.(Bernama)
