ZAMBOANGA SIBUGAY (Mindanao Examiner / July 19, 2014) – Two people were killed and two others wounded when a wayward truck ran over a motorcycle and rammed two houses in Imelda town in the southern Philippine province of Zamboanga Sibugay, police said on Saturday.

The driver of the truck, Joejack Pogaja, 24, was arrested by the police and is facing criminal charges. Pogaja has no driver’s license, according to the police.

Police said Pogaja was driving fast when he lost control of the truck carrying 12 construction workers in a curve on the highway near the village of Lumbog where he ran over the motorcycle that killed Arnel Murayao, 33, and his 26-year old wife Riza.

Pogaja’s truck also hit two houses and wounding a 5-year old boy and a 14-year old girl. The driver said he lost his break and could not control the truck.

Police said the truck is owned by Engineer Glenn Pogaja. It said Pogaja was heading to the office of Macqueserg Construction in Imelda town when the accident occurred. (Mindanao Examiner)
