
ZAMBOANGA SIBUGAY (Mindanao Examiner / Aug. 10, 2014) – Two unidentified gunmen shot dead a businessman in an attack in the town of Tungawan in Zamboanga Sibugay province in southern Philippines, police said Sunday.
Police said Allan Tarroza, 39, was shot near the village of Tigpalay where he and his driver and four other workers stopped to check their truck’s clutch system. One of the gunmen suddenly appeared and shot Tarroza while the other acted a lookout.
The gunmen fled after the shooting, leaving behind Tarroza’s driver Edgar delos Santos and workers Cassamiro Barredo, Apolinario, Napolereyes, Danilo Mendoza, and Floriano Bautista.
The motive of the killing is still unknown, but the attack targeted only Tarroza.
Police said Tarroza, a native of Zamboanga City, was heading home from Tungawan town where he purchased coconut lumber, when the attack occurred. Police said it is investigating the murder. (Mindanao Examiner)
