ZAMBOANGA SIBUGAY – Police arrested 15 crew members of a trawler after they were spotted illegally fishing in the municipal waters of Olutanga in Zamboanga Sibugay province in southern Philippines.
A police patrol led by Inspector Rommel Lamberte intercepted the trawler off the village of Galas.
Police also seized the trawler and its catch while authorities prepare the charges against the crewmen.
Municipal officials have been complaining about the illegal fishing activities in the area and ordered police authorities to intensify its patrol. (Mindanao Examiner)
