NPA surrenderees, tumanggap ng ayuda

KIDAPAWAN CITY – Nabigyan ng tseke na may halagang tig-P5,000 ang labing anim na mga dating miyembro ng rebeldeng New People’s Army o NPA sa bayan ng Magpet sa North Cotabato province.

Ang mga dating rebelde ay sumuko noong Marso at prenisinta sa katatapos na Municipal Peace and Order Council Meeting ng Magpet nitong Hulyo 11.

Bukod sa financial assistance na ibinigay ng opisina ni Mayor Florenito Gonzaga ay inaasahang tatanggap din ang mga ito ng livelihood assistance mula sa pamahalaannal sa pamamagitan ng E-CLIP o Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program.

Binigyan din sila ni Mayor Gonzaga ng tig-isang kasong bigas. Ilan sa mg dahilan kung bakit sumuko ang mga ito ay dahil sa walang patutunguhan ang kanilang ipinaglalaban.

Una na ring nananawagan si Lt. Col. Elrick Noel Paraso, commander ng 19th Infantry Battalion sa mga NPA na sumuko na at magbalik loob sa pamahalaan. (Rhoderick Beñez)
