Illegal logging, talamak pa rin: DENR

KIDAPAWAN CITY – Aminado ang pamunuan ng Department of Environment and Natural Resources o DENR 12 na talamak pa rin ang illegal logging sa apat na lalawigan ng rehiyon.

Ito ang ibinunyag ni DENR Regional Director Nilo Tamoria sa panayam ng dxND-Radyo BIDA Kidapawan. Sa kabila ng kanilang pinaigting na kampanya kontra illegal logging at pagban ng pagtotroso sa buong bansa.

Ginawa ng opisyal ang pahayag sa isinagawang launching ng Arboretum ng Energy Development Corporation o EDC sa Barangay Ilomavis sa Kidapawan City nitong Hulyo 10.

Sinabi ni Tamoria na hindi lang dapat reforestation ang gagawin kundi ang education at information campaign para mapangalagaan ang kalikasan. Dagdag pa nito na ang tingin kasi ng iba sa kagubatan ay commodity na nagiging source ng pangangailangan.

Aniya pa, itinuturing din ng mga ito ang mga puno na cash o pera na mapagkikitaan. Dahil dito, nais  ni Tamoria na palakasin pa ang kampanya nila sa pamamagitan ng education information campaign. (Rhoderick Beñez)
