ARMM assists families of victims of Lanao del Sur ambush

COTABATO CITY –  The Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao provided assistance to the families of the five members of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) killed in a recent ambush in Lanao del Sur province.

The agents heading to Marawi City after attending an anti-drug symposium in Tagoloan town when gunmen attacked them in the village called Malna  in Kapai town. Those killed were Kenneth Tabulo, Kristine Mae Torlao, Lores Joy Amar, and Binzo Dipolla, while Diobel Pacinio died while undergoing treatment at the Amai Pakpak Medical Center in Marawi City.

Two others, PDEA agent Rachel Gentapanan and non-uniformed police personnel Normina Dicay, were wounded in the ambush and still confined at the hospital.

ARMM Governor Mujiv Hataman has ordered cash assistance to the victims’ families through the Humanitarian Emergency Action Response Team (ARMM-HEART) and settled the medical bills of the two survivors. He also offered cash reward for those who could provide information that will lead to the arrest of the perpetrators.  (Bureau of Public Information)
